At OdECo., Edinburgh the health and safety of our customers, staff, and partners are our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants in our outdoor events and activities. This policy outlines the measures we take to ensure a safe environment and the responsibilities of all parties involved.

1. General Safety Measures.

1.1 Risk Assessment: We conduct thorough risk assessments for all events and activities to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.

1.2 Staff Training: Our staff undergo regular training in health and safety practices, including first aid, emergency procedures, and safe equipment handling.

1.3 Equipment Maintenance: All equipment used in our events is regularly inspected, maintained, and tested to ensure it is in safe working condition.

1.4 Customer Briefing: Prior to each event, customers are briefed on safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of equipment and emergency evacuation routes.

2. Weather-Related Safety Measures.

2.1 Weather Monitoring: We continuously monitor weather conditions leading up to and during our events. We utilize reliable weather forecasting services to stay informed of any potential adverse weather conditions.

2.2 Event Modifications: In the event of adverse weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain, strong winds, extreme temperatures), we may modify, postpone, or cancel events to ensure the safety of all participants. Customers will be notified as soon as possible of any changes to the event schedule.

2.3 Shelter and Shade: We provide adequate shelter and shade at our event locations to protect participants from extreme weather conditions, such as direct sunlight or rain.

2.4 Hydration and Cooling: During hot weather, we encourage participants to stay hydrated and provide access to drinking water and cooling stations.

3. Emergency Procedures.

3.1 Emergency Contacts: Emergency contact numbers are prominently displayed at all event locations, and staff are equipped with mobile phones to communicate with emergency services if needed.

3.2 First Aid: A qualified first aider is present at all events, and first aid kits are readily available. In the event of an injury or medical emergency, immediate assistance will be provided, and emergency services will be contacted if necessary.

3.3 Evacuation Plan: An evacuation plan is in place for each event location. Participants are briefed on the evacuation routes and assembly points in case of an emergency.

4. Customer Responsibilities.

4.1 Compliance with Instructions: Customers are expected to comply with all safety instructions and guidelines provided by OdECo., Edinburgh staff.

4.2 Appropriate Clothing and Footwear: Participants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the event, considering weather conditions and the nature of the activity.

4.3 Health Conditions: Customers should inform OdECo., Edinburgh of any pre-existing health conditions that may affect their ability to participate in an event safely.

5. Continuous Improvement.

5.1 Feedback and Reporting: We encourage customers and staff to provide feedback on health and safety matters. Any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns should be reported to OdECo. management immediately in person and/or via email enquiries@odecoevents.co.uk

5.2 Policy Review: This Health and Safety Policy is reviewed regularly and updated as needed to ensure it remains effective and compliant with relevant health and safety regulations.
